Then and now

Venice has had record flooding in the past few days, and it seems so strange to see the photos of it now compared to when we saw it over a month ago.

Then (St. Mark's Square):
(Remember these yellow chairs from this café!)

And now:
(There are the yellow chairs!)

Exterior illumination

Yes, I've caved and put up Christmas lights nice and early this year.  Even the wreath on the front door went out yesterday.

(The lights on the tall cedar in the middle of the yard has twinkle LED lights -- which resemble something that NASA would use to land the space shuttle in our front yard.  Oh well.)

Outdoor room

This yard is small, but it has everything you can imagine crammed into it, and it looks pretty good!

Island sunset

On Saturday night it got a tad windy and some clouds blew in over the sun while it was setting. Dramatic!

The weekend (we can loosely call it that)

We both took only one day off this weekend (even though it's a long weekend, or extra long weekend for most people). We spent our 'non-weekend' days working and our one day (Sunday) doing things around the house (Trevor working on tiling the bathroom, me painting moulding) and sweating like mad in the 37C weather. Whew!

Here's some shots of the one day weekend action:

Blog I'm digging right now

I came across Tiny Farm Blog last night while searching for information on planting the bush bean seeds I have. I'm completely addicted to seeing how this small organic farm (around 2.5 acres) manages to grow such nice veggies and seeing how the seasons change.I love the colours of all the beets.Farming au natural!Pretty tomatoes.

Driving range

We hit up the driving range last night (or rather, Trevor hit it up, I watched and took photos).

The view walking up to the range. This is the view you would have if you were reincarnated as a range ball, before you were whacked into oblivion.Trevor swinging. (I like the fact that this photo has the added drama of making it look as though there's an explosion coming from his bum...lol!)A range dog. He came along with his owner and just hung around.
