Sewing with my tomato

I sewed some drapes for the family room on Friday night, but strangely enough, I don't have a picture of those up yet (even though they are up in the room!), instead I was admiring my favorite pin tomato.

Productivity has come to a standstill

Seriously. Had I known a blog like this existed out there I would have had many more hours disappear from my days, weeks...years. There are ideas up the wazoo and so many photos to look at, I mean come on, just look at this!(I'm so overloaded with crazy ideas at the moment I think I need to find a white room with nothing in it to lie down in.  Plus, I had to create a new label for this post to properly describe it!)

Crafty pursuit: eBay frames

I found these frames on eBay and saw some potential (plus the price was great, $2.99!):
So I spray painted them with an antique white finish, and sanded the edges and detail areas to give it a bit of shabby-chic-ness:
And voila! I think they look much better now!

Loads of colour

I'm not a knitter (I have made the odd scarf and abandoned project here and there), but if I were a big time knitter, this would be the wool for me. (What makes it even better is that the colours were inspired by Wonder Woman!)If you're of the knit-inclined, you can find it here.

New fabric for the office

I've been searching for the perfect fabric to make some panels for the sides of my open stainless steel worktable for a long time now (to hide all of the paper cutters, trimmers, adhesives, paper...). I wanted something fairly graphic with some contrast, but interesting. At first I looked at stripes and some other patterns, until I saw this:
Woot! Love it! Now I will just have to dust of my sewing machine and get cracking. (It's a J. Dewberry Manzanita. I got it here.)

Something crafty

I came across this at the fabricationsbylin Etsy store. And then I thought, I could make this too! With the right Ikea frame, some nice fabric and finding an initial (that could be the more challenging part)...it's possible. Maybe even skipping the initial and finding something else three-dimensional to put in there could work.

Best. Mobile. Ever.

I came across this mobile at Fawn and Forest. It would be just at home over a crib as it would in the corner of an office. (I see a corner in mine that could benefit from it!)For $150 you might want to look at your old magazines differently and start a crafty project of your own!

Being crafty

I would love to be crafty enough to make something like that. How cool looking is that little dude? I have a feeling all the stuff I would make would look like crap and just clutter the house. But maybe one day...

Martha gets ugly

Friday night was designated as 'crafty fun night' here, as I had watched a MarthaMartha episode showing one of the coolest Halloween decorations...a glowing spider egg! Here's what it was SUPPOSED to look like:

And here's what really happened:
Two eggs did work out, many did not. And one exploded all over the place. In my eyes, on my clothes, in my hair, on the ceiling, on the blinds, on the cat, on Trevor (shirt, back of head), on chairs, on the couch, on my computer, on the printer, on the table, on the chairs, on the cupboards, on a basket, on boxes, on the floor, on the walls, on picture frames, on books, on containers, on lights, on faucets, on the counter, on the paper shredder, on cords, on plants... And I'm still finding places where it's gone. What a mess. But I didn't learn. On Sunday I really wanted at least one more egg that would work, and it happened AGAIN. And again with the clothes (but I wore an apron, smart!), walls, table, computer, cupboards... Then I gave up. There will only be two eggs this year.

I still need to whip up the decor outside as well. I think I might do that later today. I've got some lights and spiders to put up and the pumpkins will be carved tomorrow night. We're still working on clearing a path from the front door to the living room, and clearing stuff around the door so we can open it (big task).
